Samurai War
Quick Start Tutorial
This tutorial is designed to help you quickly learn the basics of Samurai War while at the same time giving you a decent start into the game. If at any time during this tutorial you are confused about anything, refer to the easy-to-read Help/FAQ for help.
In Samurai War, you play the fictional role of a samurai. This is a multiplayer game, and you will encounter many other players in your experiences. Get used to dying a lot, because a lot of people kill other players for fun.
Now to officially start the tutorial. If you haven't noticed already, you are under Newbie Protection. This lasts for an hour. During this time, you will be protected from attacks by other players. You also will not be able to attack other players during this time. You can turn off your protection before the hour is up by finding the link to do so on the Start page.
To start off, locate your trap link, which can be found on the Start page. It will look something like "http://www.samuraiwar.com/page?x=230948". This link can be used to trap your friends and earn you money. Try visiting it! You may have noticed that after you were "trapped," your samurai earned a small amount of money. You can send your link to as many people as you'd like! The only catch is that you can only trap the same person once a day. Try sending it to some of your friends, so you can earn some spending money. But don't worry, there's much more to the game than sending out links!
Now that you have some money, visit the Train page, which is accessible from the Menu. You will see 5 stats that you can train. These stats effect your performance in combat against other players:
Train as many stats as you can afford. Training costs go up a little bit every time you train, so it is usually best to buy in bulk.
Once you have trained, you'll notice that your Power (displayed on your Info bar) has increased. When you start out, you only have 25 Power. Power is simply the sum of all of your stats except for Stamina. You can use Power as a guide for your strength versus other players.
You will probably have a little money left over from training.
With your spare money, it's time to learn how to use the Bank to keep your money safe. The Bank can be accessed from the Menu. At the Bank, you can deposit or withdrawal free of charge, but there is a limit to how much you can deposit. Your Bank size increases with your Power. Go ahead and Deposit the Maximum amount of money possible now.
Now that you're a little stronger and have learned some of the basics, you can do either one of two things. If you'd like, you can keep trapping people and training before your protection runs out. Or, you can turn off your protection now, and we can move on to attacking.
Once you are out of protection, you'll need to be a little more cautious. Players can attack you now, so it is advised to keep your extra money in the Bank. Of course, you can also attack other players now.
You can attack other players and Non Player Characters (nicknamed NPCs - generated by the server) for money. It costs 1 Stamina to attack another player.
In order to be able to attack another player:
- You and your opponent must both be conscious
- You must have enough Stamina to attack
- You and your opponent must not be under Newbie Protection
- You cannot be dishonorably more powerful than your opponent
Note that players who are offline are still vulnerable to attacks!
To find players to attack, go to the Attack page. You can choose from a list of filters on which players to rank:
I suggest you use the NPC filter, because they usually have more money out than other players. Find an NPC who's Power is significantly lower than yours. You can either attack immediately by clicking Attack, or you can view the NPC's profile by clicking on its name and attack from there.
If you are skilled enough, you will win the fight. In a fight, the first person to lose all of their health falls unconscious, leaving all of the money in their wallet to the winner. Also, the attack is logged in both the attacker and defender's Attack History. (If your luck ran short and you lost the fight, you can heal yourself at the Clinic and try again.)
Quick! Deposit your wins in the bank! Samurai War is a very competitive game, and players are always on the lookout for other players with money.
In your attack, you may have lost some health. If you need to heal, you can make a visit to the Clinic and heal your wounds for a small fee. At the Clinic, you can also heal other players for a hefty 10 Stamina. Use this feature wisely, because you don't want to waste your Stamina.
Congratulations! You have learned the basics of Samurai War! One thing you may want to do at this point is enter some information into your personal Profile. Let other players know who you are!
From here, you can continue to increase your Power and reputation throughout Samurai War using the basic techniques you have learned. Once you grow a bit, you might want to consider joining a Dynasty, or even creating your own! Also, if you'd like to meet some fellow players, we have a very friendly community on the Forums. We love to see new faces!
If you have any more questions about the Samurai War, you will most likely find the answer in the Help/FAQ. If by some chance you cannot find it there, there is a place to ask questions on the Forums.
May you go with honor...

Now that you have some money, visit the Train page, which is accessible from the Menu. You will see 5 stats that you can train. These stats effect your performance in combat against other players:
| Statistics | |
| Health | A numeric representation of your health. In combat, when you are hit, you lose health. When you have no health left, you fall unconscious. |
| Strength | Effects how hard you hit in combat. The more strength you have, the more damage you deal out. |
| Dexterity | Effects how accurate you are. With more dexterity, you miss your opponent less. More hits = more damage. |
| Agility | Effects how skilled you are in dodging attacks. With more agility, your opponent is more likely to miss you. You may have noticed that agility counters the effect of dexterity. This can be very crucial in combat. |
| Stamina | This doesn't effect combat, but it is required for actions such as attacking and healing. 1 Stamina point is regenerated every 5 minutes, so use it wisely. |

| Ranking Filters | |
| Find Conscious Players | This lists all players who are conscious, and therefore vulnerable to attack. |
| Find NPCs | This lists all Non Player Characters. NPCs are always conscious, and usually have a considerable amount of money on them. |
| Find Online Players | This lists all players who are online currently. This can be useful, because these players often have large amounts of money on them. |
I suggest you use the NPC filter, because they usually have more money out than other players. Find an NPC who's Power is significantly lower than yours. You can either attack immediately by clicking Attack, or you can view the NPC's profile by clicking on its name and attack from there.
